OTPF Knowledge Check

The OTPF explains the over all concepts of occupational therapy practice. The OTPF is meant to guide the practice of OT as a whole. The OTPF is important to learn about because it gives us a better understanding of the terminology used in occupational therapy. It gave terms used in occupational therapy concrete definitions. This is just one of many reasons why it is important to learn about the OTPF.

One of the roles I have is being a spouse. As a spouse, one occupation that I frequently participate in is cleaning. An activity associated with this occupation is laundry. A task associated with this activity is separating the clothes before they are washed.

This is one chore that almost everyone dreads doing, but it seems like it always has to be done. That's right, I'm talking about laundry. Laundry, which is considered an activity of daily living,  is an occupation that has withstood the test of time. At first, laundry was done in rivers and streams. Then, we moved on to washboards and soon after, washing machines. Although how we go about doing it has changed quite a bit, the overall purpose of laundry, cleaning clothes, has stayed the same.
